HCOC (the Hague Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation) plenary session in Vienna – May 31st and June 1st

The HCoC plenary session that took place last week of Vienna provided an opportunity to discuss the global context of growing concerns relating to the proliferation of ballistic weapons – as exemplified by DPRK and Iran. It also took stock of the 2011/2012 HCoC Romanian chairmanship and its results in terms of implementation and universalisation of the code. In this regard, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Singapore have subscribed to the Code during the Romanian chairmanship.

A press communiqué was adopted by the HCoC plenary for the first time in 2011, under French chairmanship and it was again the case during this 2012 plenary – soon available on this website.
The Republic of Korea has now assumed the chairmanship of HCoC, until 2013. Japan will then take suite for the 2013/2014 period.
